Registration CLOSED- Fifth Victorian Weeds Conference, Invasive Plants and Animals- Contrasts and Connections, 13th-15th May 2014 in Geelong.

Registration is now open for the Weed Society's Fifth Biennial Conference. This year's conference offers an array of speakers covering a variety of topics across both invasive plants and animals. The conference will include two forums- Chilean Needle Grass, Chaired by Gerald Leach of the Victorian Farmers Federation; and Putting the Public Interest into Invasive Species Management, Chaired by Andrew Cox from the Invasive Species Council. A field trip is offered on the third day to look at management of gorse, rabbits & management of serrated tussock by use of domestic pig farming. As a special treat, a conference dinner to Mt Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretation Centre is also on offer, (as well as the normal onsite dinner). This will include a night walk and presentation describing the managment of the Mt Rothwell property, and a buffet dinner. Transport will be provided for field trip participants. We will also be hosting the AGM during lunch on Wednesday 14th May. Committee member elections will be held during this time and we invite those interested in becoming a committee member to nominate for a position.
